Sustainability
At Englobe, our words become our commitments, and our commitments guide our actions.
At Englobe, sustainability is not an abstract commitment it is a practical framework that guides how we make decisions, deliver projects, and grow responsibly. As a leading Canadian engineering and environmental services firm, we are focused on translating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities into meaningful action across our operations and for our clients.
Our Sustainability Reports reflect this disciplined approach, highlighting the measurable progress we are making while sharing the real-world impacts of our work in communities across Canada. From climate adaptation and resilient infrastructure to environmental restoration and energy transition, our teams are delivering solutions that support long-term performance and sustainable growth.
As we continue to grow, we remain committed to strengthening transparency, accountability, and collaboration, ensuring that sustainability remains embedded in how we think, act, and create value, today and for the future.
At Englobe, sustainability is embedded in how we design, build, and deliver solutions. As a Canadian engineering and environmental services firm, we focus on helping clients advance projects that strengthen communities, protect the environment, and support long-term resilience.
Our approach is grounded in our core value of radical caring, which guides how we integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into our operations and services. From health and safety and ethical governance to inclusion, community engagement, and environmental stewardship, we take a structured, practical approach to sustainability across every project and location.
By combining this commitment with the technical expertise of our teams, we deliver solutions that reduce risk, improve performance, and create measurable value for our clients and communities.
Together, we are working to deliver meaningful, lasting impact—one that goes beyond intent and is reflected in the outcomes we achieve every day.
Our ESG approach is based on 5 key pillars
We seek to take meaningful action to reduce Englobe’s impact on the environment.
Specifically, we are focusing on two key areas:
- reducing our greenhouse gas emissions through rigorous analysis and meaningful action on certain operational areas, and
- enacting responsible practices both internally and in all client projects.

As a trusted provider of technical, professional and specialized services, we strive to empower our clients to have a positive impact on the environment.
From a practical perspective, this means embedding responsible practices in all of our project activities, and emphasizing sustainability in all Englobe services and collaborations we deliver across the country.
We also work to positively model sustainable action by encouraging and supporting our clients and collaborators in implementing their own green activities and objectives on their jobsites.

Proximity to our communities has always been at the heart of Englobe's service delivery model. We work with and for our communities to enable and support them in achieving their most cherished development and growth objectives, so they can flourish and thrive.
We are particularly proud and grateful for our enduring relationships with numerous Indigenous communities from coast to coast. We remain thankful for their trust, and hope to continue strengthening these caring bonds to further stimulate their growth and prosperity.

At Englobe, our success has always been founded on collaboration and caring - for our clients, our communities, and each other. We continue to believe this approach is the key to our future growth.
There's no better way to embody this radical caring than by looking after our outstanding people - who are at the heart of our success.
They are why we have implemented rigorous health and safety policies, programs and trainings that ensure everyone can go home safely at the end of the work day. They are why we continue to refine our employee experience to bring the top minds into the fold, and provide them with appealing development opportunities so they can grow their skills and careers. And they are why we're embedding belonging at every level by advancing gender equality and ensuring our communications are fully inclusive and respectful.

In 2024, we established an ESG Steering Committee to oversee and guide our efforts to integrate environment, social, and governance principles into our strategy and operations. The Committee oversees the implementation of the ESG Plan and works to ensure that our business decisions and actions align with our sustainability and corporate responsibility objectives.
We are also committed to rigorously ensuring that every Englobe policy, practice, and action embodies our shared vision and overall values. We aim to uphold the highest standards, both internally and in our interactions with our clients, communities, and other external stakeholders. We are responsible, transparent, and accountable, and strive to conduct ourselves with the utmost integrity at all times.
Meet our ESG Director: Geneviève David Watson joins Englobe as its first ESG Director
Englobe is a proud member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. It encourages worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to take strategic actions that advance broader societal goals. Since its inception in 2000, the UNGC has grown to include over 20,000 businesses from 167 countries, making it a significant force for promoting sustainable business practices globally.
This affiliation is extremely important to Englobe, and are proud to be one of the Canadian members of this important global movement. This membership guides our embrace of the principles of responsible sustainability across all projects and in every aspect of our business. Consequently, we have structured our ESG approach along five pillars, which support us in contributing meaningfully to achieving several of the UNGC's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Individually and collectively, our team members' actions to make an impactful difference inspire tremendous pride and gratitude. Through concerted actions, volunteering for meaningful causes, and fundraising, our people are the engine that drives our desire to help our communities, their residents, and their organizations.
Last year, Englobe supported organizations, events, and charities across Canada which help deliver important programming and support services that make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable people. As we strive to maximize the impact of every dollar we donate or raise, we use our caring presence to uplift, educate, and support people in need in our communities.
We know that to help a community grow and thrive, it takes a concerted effort from everyone. That’s why we also work hard to build local connections and nurture relationships that help people and communities achieve their dreams.
At Englobe, we believe that our daily actions – both large and small – have tremendous power. And we believe in celebrating those women and men who recognize this power, and dare to use it to make a lasting and positive difference. In recognition of these team members, we created the Englobe Awards.
Awarded annually, these awards showcase the best and brightest among us - colleagues who make a positive impact every single day. These inspiring individuals are moved by community and by caring, and are the true embodiment of our values.
The Inspiration-ELLE Award
Inaugurated in 2023, the Inspiration-ELLE award recognizes a high-performing professional woman who demonstrates excellence, is a game-changer on her team and in her community, and leads with courage, confidence, and integrity. Through their everyday actions, these inspiring women embody excellence in their field and have become role models for their colleagues and peers.
Dare.Care.Change Award
The Dare.Care.Change Award recognizes an Englobe team member who dares to do things differently, who radically cares for their colleagues, clients and community, and who is a champion for positive change. Award recipients receive a unique prize that aligns with our vision to build a sustainable future. Each year, we partner with an Indigenous artist to create a custom art piece to be presented to the Dare.Care.Change recipient, thus providing additional visibility for Indigenous artists.
