More than just words - this commitment is central to Englobe’s approach in all areas of our business. As a Canadian leader in engineering and environment, we believe it’s essential to act in order to achieve sustainable development.

This means putting actions before good intentions. Actions such as completing major projects that protect the environment and meet community expectations, and caring for the people and communities we serve. It is this spirit that drives us every day.

We believe that by being bold and staying true to our values, we can have a positive impact on the world. We make good on this belief by putting it into practice in the field for over 60 years.

A global company with a local footprint

Over the years, we have expanded our areas of expertise and activity. This growth underscores our passion for sustainable development. With offices in Canada, France and the United Kingdom, we’re deploying our expertise globally, in fields as diverse as engineering, design, inspection, environmental consulting and rehabilitation, as well as materials management and recovery.

Daring to act: impacting people and the environment

In every project we undertake, we apply the twin principles of environmental preservation and sustainable development. It’s no coincidence that we’ve developed globally-recognized expertise in soil decontamination and regeneration, as well as revitalization of natural environments, and materials recovery. This expertise is delivered through an approach founded on respect for the communities in which we operate and collaboration with residents.

“Protecting the world around us has been the cornerstone of our company’s philosophy since its inception. It’s part of our DNA and guides everything we do.” - Alain Robichaud, Co-President, Englobe.

It would be misguided to believe we could achieve this on our own. That’s why we emphasize the importance of close collaboration with our partners. We believe large-scale initiatives can be successfully completed only with the support of all local partners, as well as a high degree of social acceptance.

Throughout our many achievements, Englobe has developed strong bonds of trust with communities. They include the Cree Nation as part of the major brownfield project in Chisasibi, the residents of Val-des-Sources during the Jeffrey Mine revegetation, and the Inuit community of Resolute Bay in Nunavut during the remediation of 21 contaminated Arctic sites.  These projects, and many others, provide opportunities for people to come together and share their views.

We’re also investing in hiring, training and supporting members of these communities. At the same time, we recognize the importance of sharing knowledge and expertise with them. Doing so not only creates a lasting legacy, but also enables residents to take an active role in their region’s economic development.

Forging strong bonds while showing abiding concern

From designing transportation infrastructure and regenerating natural environments to providing quality control services, Englobe is moving forward while staying true to the foundational values on which it has built its success. Key among these is our radical caring for others.

This commitment is also reflected in our belief that health and safety issues transcend worksite boundaries, and must be addressed from a broader perspective.

Backed by an uncompromising ethical vision, the Englobe spirit combines resolute optimism, a sense of initiative, and the boldness to meet each challenge with renewed enthusiasm. This is how we act as change agents!
