Moved by community

We believe in giving contaminated soil a second life. As a modern society, our activities have had important impacts on our environment, once the work is done, we partner with our communities and clients to bring it back to its original state by using innovative solutions and treated soils.

The Englobe Expertise

As with all of our projects, Englobe’s land rehabilitation work is overseen by all appropriate authorities, and conducted according to the highest standards in our industry. Whenever possible, our team also incorporates the use of recycled materials in our projects.

Out of respect for the communities located near our facilities, the Englobe team has implemented nuisance-limiting work practices. This proactive action is in keeping with our care for our communities, and generates a great deal of goodwill, so our projects are widely accepted and positively viewed.

For over 10 years, the Englobe team has actively helped restore degraded sites such as mine heaps, quarries and sandpits, landfills, roadsides and brownfields. In these projects, our team draws on its extensive expertise to suggest the right restoration approach. We focus on reusing and recycling materials rather than further depleting precious natural resources.

Fields of Expertise

Our objective in these revegetation projects is to actively contribute to restoring sites of former industrial exploration, such as mine dumps, quarries and sandpits, or degraded sites such as landfills, roadsides or industrial wastelands. Our experienced, skilled team can suggest innovative solutions that integrate the use of our own rehabilitated and recycled materials, including lightly-contaminated or decontaminated soils and fertilizing residual materials, to recreate a substrate that is favourable to new plant growth.

Building on this research, our team provided various cover options to mine sites with acid leachate generation problems. In these projects, de-inking sludge was used as a waterproofing layer in to seal tailings prior to surface revegetation. Later, we also covered and revegetated many landfills and dry material disposal sites, which were forced to close due to new design standards.

This wealth of experience and innovation continues to set our Englobe team apart. We are experienced in proposing solutions that minimize a project’s environmental footprint while also delivering significant economic and environmental benefits, and help ensure we leave a greener environment behind for future generations.

We've got you covered.

Aside from enhancing degraded sites, we help our clients maximize local buy-in and community acceptance for their projects. A joint initiative with numerous impacts - all positive!
