Englobe strengthens its dam and water - resources presence at CDA 2026

Englobe brought together multidisciplinary engineering expertise from across Canada during the 2026 Canadian Dam Association Conference and Trade Show in Halifax, which ran from October 25th to 28th. As a Diamond Sponsor, Englobe also helped officially open the trade show, with President Mike Cormier delivering welcome remarks following the keynote address.

Our team joined Canada’s dam community in Halifax to connect with clients and industry colleagues, share project experience, and discuss some of the challenges facing dams and water infrastructure. The delegation drew on expertise from across Englobe, including MPE and Higher Ground, spanning dam safety, water resources, geotechnical engineering, and other complementary disciplines.

See our work in action

A practical approach to complex assets

Not every dam requires the same response. Existing assets come with different histories, conditions, operational requirements, risks, and constraints.

We start by understanding these realities, then we bring together the necessary expertise and level of support to address each specific situation. This might mean assessing one component, planning the rehabilitation of an existing asset, or combining several disciplines for a major dam or reservoir project.

This experience is reflected in projects across Canada, from dams and reservoirs to the infrastructure that helps manage and protect our water resources. Our goal is to help clients make informed, practical decisions that have a tangible impact – regardless of the project's scale.

Bringing our experience to life

Visitors to Englobe’s booth had the opportunity to meet our experts and learn more about our work through project imagery, an interactive demo, and a holographic display.

More importantly, the conference created opportunities to discuss the challenges behind the projects, exchange knowledge gained in the field, and help clients connect with the right expertise for the work ahead.

Englobe President Mike Cormier also delivered welcome remarks to help officially open the CDA 2026 trade show on October 26. He urged attendees to view the conference as an opportunity to strengthen industry relationships and share expertise.

That's what the next two days are for: to share, to learn from each other, to build bridges across disciplines and especially, to make connections... to continue to build your community and ours.

Mike Cormier, President, Englobe.

Continuing the conversation

Our collaboration with the Canadian Dam Association will extend beyond the conference.

In 2027, Englobe will host two CDA webinars exploring rapid drawdown scenarios for dams, as well as risk communication. These webinars will provide another opportunity to share practical experience and perspectives, and continue the conversations we started in Halifax.

Englobe is recognized as Canada’s leader in the fields of environmental management, engineering, and asset integrity and quality management.
