Vice-President, Corporate Risk Management and GME West

Yves Cormier, P. Eng.

Yves Cormier, P.Eng., Vice-President at Englobe, leads corporate risk management, health and safety, and quality. With over 30 years of experience, he oversees GME operations in Western Canada and supports multidisciplinary projects. He promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing while ensuring strong performance, risk management, and technical excellence.

As part of his corporate role as Vice-President, Risk Management, Yves Cormier works closely with the Legal team and Operations on project risk management, in addition to overseeing Englobe’s overall health and safety systems and processes, project management training, and quality. He also leads efforts to enhance the transfer of valuable knowledge and technical expertise between various Englobe teams, thereby contributing to bringing to life our company’s philosophy of continuous collaboration and teamwork.

Additionally, Yves holds overall responsibility for the performance of Englobe’s Geotechnical – Material – Environmental (GME) Operational Centres in Western Canada. This includes collaborating with our various colleagues across the company on multi-disciplinary projects. 

A well-respected team player, Yves brings a strong focus on quality and excellence and an impressive track record to this role. He is a senior geotechnical engineer with over 30 years of experience gained through a broad range of projects across Canada and the United States. Yves’s past experience includes leading numerous cross-functional teams executing multi-year, multi-million-dollar projects. spanning a diverse range of sectors including oil and gas, industrial, mining, transportation, land development, and all levels of government. 

Yves holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Moncton, New Brunswick as well as numerous technical and engineering courses completed throughout his career. He is a member of the Project Management Institute, the Canadian Geotechnical Society, and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
