Our roots run deep in Canada, with origins stretching back to Atlantic Canada in 1952 and to Laval, Québec, where Laboratoires Ville-Marie (LVM) was founded in 1961. In those early years, our work centred on materials, soil remediation, and environmental services. This practical, grounded expertise — developed close to the land and to the communities we served — shaped the character of Englobe from the outset.

In 2014, Englobe had 370 employees, primarily in environmental services. That same year, two major milestones helped shape modern Englobe. The acquisition of Laboratoires Ville-Marie (LVM) and the launch of the unified Englobe brand marked the first steps in bringing complementary strengths in environmental and infrastructure services together under a single identity. These events helped nurture the one-team mindset that would support Englobe’s next growth stage.

Between 2018 and 2021, Englobe completed seven acquisitions across Atlantic Canada, Ontario, and Western Canada. These new partnerships expanded both our footprint and our capabilities in transportation, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. With each new chapter, Englobe became better equipped to support clients and communities with a more complete multidisciplinary offer.

In 2023, we made the strategic decision to build a dedicated Professional Services platform, sharpening Englobe’s focus on high-quality multidisciplinary engineering and environmental services. In July 2024, we also entered a new strategic relationship with Toronto-based Colliers. These two developments marked an important new phase in our story, bringing greater focus to the business and a clearer framework for the next stage of our growth.

During this period, Englobe experienced historic expansion, through a combination of organic growth and more than a dozen thoughtful strategic agreements with like-minded Canadian partners. This reach expanded our ability to deliver multidisciplinary engineering and environmental services all across the country, while maintaining the strong local footprint and regional proximity that have always defined our mission.

Today, Englobe has become a truly national multidisciplinary engineering company. Thanks to the dedication and capabilities of our 4,200+ team members, we take on complex, forward-looking projects in diverse market sectors including defense, transportation, infrastructure, renewables, and climate resilience.
