Inclusion and belonging

At Englobe, every voice matters, every day.

At Englobe, we understand that our success is founded on a diversity of opinions, perspectives, and experiences. Our multidisciplinary approach relies on our team’s ability to collaborate effectively, to innovate, and to maintain an open, creative mind to solve complex issues. It’s not surprising, therefore, that we’re eager for a diversity of voices and opinions, and profoundly committed to building a more resilient, equitable and inclusive future – both for the communities we serve and for our own team members.

We’re acting on this commitment by actively boosting representation by women and minorities on our leadership teams, expanding collaborations with Indigenous communities, introducing inclusive writing guidelines, and other areas where it matters most.

Moved by action to build a better workplace

We're an active member of Women in Governance and the U.N. Global Compact, and have committed to promoting, providing growth opportunities, and raising the visibility of women in leadership roles. We also champion women in STEM through academic bursaries and grants.

Empowering women to achieve their goals

We’ve taken decisive action to advance the role and place of women at Englobe. We’re actively advancing gender equity by partnering with Women in Governance, creating Inclusion and Women in Leadership committees, and collaborating with organizations that help women access employment. We also offer targeted equity, diversity, and inclusion training, provide bursaries to promising young women in engineering and STEM across the country, and have launched Employee Resource Groups focused on supporting women across Englobe.

Together, these actions reflect our enduring commitment to building a more inclusive, equitable, and empowering workplace where women can thrive, lead, and shape the future of our organization.

At Englobe, we have a responsibility to lead the way — for women, and for everyone, including people from underrepresented groups. By valuing diverse talent and fostering an inclusive, people-centred work environment, we are building a strong, respectful, and equitable culture that reflects who we are.

These initiatives are not endpoints – they are part of our journey. Through ongoing education, team member engagement, transparent accountability, and a willingness to grow and evolve, Englobe is committed to building a workplace where women can achieve their most cherished professional ambitions.

Concrete actions that support women

Englobe is an active member of this non-profit, which supports women’s achievement of their career advancement and leadership development ambitions.

As our first initiative under this partnership, Englobe undertook Women in Governance’s Parity Certification process, a diagnostic tool that helps organizations assess their current status as it relates to gender parity. By considering the multiple impacts of diversity in women’s career advancement, the certification process established a baseline for Englobe and provided an analysis of current strengths and opportunities to achieve greater inclusion.

Following this rigorous evaluation, Englobe achieved a Bronze Certification Level. We continue to assess our programs and initiatives so we can maintain and even raise this certification level, to the benefit of women across the entire organization.

Comprised of team members from all levels, these two internal committees identify and implement practical initiatives that benefit women. From the outset, the women and allies in these committees have convened regularly and worked tirelessly to identify key opportunities and lay the foundation for meaningful, lasting improvements in our team members’ everyday experience.

The two committees have now developed an ambitious action plan structured around key themes, including leadership and professional development, equity, flexibility, culture, visibility, and wellness, with new initiatives launched regularly across the entire organization.

In response to feedback and ideas shared by our Inclusion and Women Leadership Committee members and in recognition of the need to create a stronger community where employees can connect, share ideas, and navigate common challenges, in 2026 Englobe launched its Women’s Networks, the company’s first Employee Resource Group (ERG) initiative. Englobe’s leadership champions and actively supports these ERGs by providing guidance, visibility, and financial resources to help ensure their success and long-term impact.

While the four Women’s Networks are organized regionally (West, Ontario, Québec, and Atlantic) to reflect local contexts, they align on a shared mission: to empower, support, and advance women by fostering an inclusive community that champions professional growth, mentorship, leadership development, and equitable opportunities. Welcoming women from all levels at Englobe as well as our partner companies, this inaugural ERG reflects our broader ESG and fairness objectives, and aligns closely with our values of collaboration, care, and sustainability.

Through the Inspiration-ELLE Award, Englobe recognizes the achievements of one woman making an exceptional impact in business, science, and/or engineering. The recipient of this annual internal award is a high-performing female professional who demonstrates excellence, is a true game changer who leads with courage, confidence, commitment, and integrity, and inspires her colleagues, her clients, and her community.

Inspiration-ELLE Award recipients are enrolled in the prestigious Ambition Challenge leadership program as well as Englobe’s in-house leadership program, and are also connected with an Englobe mentor of their choice.

We're proud to contribute to this annual University of Sherbrooke bursary, awarded to talented women engineering students.

Many voices create better outcomes

At Englobe, we value your experiences, skills, and perspective – they are instrumental in our ability to lead with excellence and deliver quality to our communities and our clients. We understand a diverse workplace culture gives rise to the best, most innovative solutions.

Our Workplace Respect, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy serves as the foundation for our efforts to build an open, welcoming culture. In support of this objective, we launched concrete initiatives such as a new policy to combat harassment and violence, inclusive writing guidelines so everyone feels seen, mandatory training sessions designed to foster a safer, more respectful, and inclusive workplace for all, and programs to build leadership capacity and project management skills among all leaders, both experienced and emerging.

We recognize the importance of diverse perspectives in building a more innovative, resilient, and equitable future, particularly in traditionally underrepresented areas like Indigenous communities and STEM professions.

A culture that’s open to everyone

Diversity is also at the heart of our ESG action plan, which includes measurable goals related to representation, inclusive practices, and equitable access to professional development. These goals reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and drive innovation and excellence.

Our Indigenous partnerships

At Englobe, we deeply value mutual respect, understanding, and meaningful collaboration with our Indigenous partners. In practice, this commitment translates into actively striving to create and expand employment opportunities for Indigenous community residents involved in our projects across Canada. Guided by the experience and expertise of our Indigenous Relations Manager, Edmond Collins, our teams work directly with Council, Elders, and other community members at the start of our projects to build respectful relationships and to enhance the project’s social, economic, and educational benefits to the community and region. We’re also the only company certified to deliver ECO Canada’s BEAHR training in French, supporting skill sharing for Indigenous workers across the province.

As a member of a First Nation, the concept of being a guardian of the Earth is central to our culture. The BEAHR training focused on this idea, which I loved. In my case, it also motivated me to take other courses and look for job opportunities in this field.

Our partnerships

For over three decades, we have proudly collaborated with Indigenous communities, partners, and trusted suppliers across Canada. Our commitment has led us to successfully complete thousands of impactful projects, with hundreds being accomplished each year. Throughout this journey, we have not only delivered tangible results but have also forged strong and lasting partnerships by establishing formal Joint Ventures and Memorandums of Understanding with select communities. These agreements symbolize our dedication to mutual growth, respect, and shared success. By combining our expertise with the invaluable local knowledge and cultural richness of Indigenous communities, we continue to drive forward meaningful and sustainable development, creating a legacy of positive change for future generations.
